Recognition partnership visa: Our support for your professional recognition in Germany

Overview of the recognition partnership

As part of our service, we offer you the opportunity to carry out the recognition procedure for your foreign qualification after your arrival in Germany and to work in your profession at the same time.
This is particularly relevant if you wish to work in Germany and require recognition of your foreign qualification.
We will support you in obtaining the necessary residence permit in accordance with § 16d Para.
3 AufenthG.

Requirements for the visa for employment within the framework of a recognition partnership

1

Qualification:

We can help you apply for recognition of your foreign university or vocational qualification.
For professional qualifications, at least two years of full-time training is required.
For the visa application, we will support you in applying for positive information on your professional qualification or a digital certificate assessment from the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB).

2

Job offer:

We advise you in your search for a specific job offer in Germany that represents qualified employment.
A university degree or qualified vocational training is required to carry out this work.
If you work in a regulated profession (e.g. as a doctor or nurse), we will inform you about the possibilities of working as an assistant until you receive your license to practice your profession.

3

Agreement on the recognition partnership:

We support you and your future employer in concluding a written agreement that enables you to carry out the recognition procedure as part of your employment relationship.
This agreement can also form part of your employment contract.

4

Proof of language skills:

We will help you to provide the necessary proof of your German language skills at level A2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
If a higher level of German is required, we will advise you on suitable language courses and qualification measures.

5

Suitable employer:

We support you in finding an employer who is suitable for the recognition partnership and already has experience with vocational training or post-qualification.
The suitability of the employer is checked by the competent authority during the visa procedure.

6

Conditions of employment:

We ensure that your employment conditions comply with domestic standards.
The Federal Employment Agency (BA) checks these conditions in the visa procedure and must approve your employment.

Prospects after successful completion of the recognition procedure

1

Full recognition:

Once your qualifications have been successfully recognized, we will support you in applying for a residence permit to work as a skilled worker or an EU Blue Card.
If you do not currently have a job offer, we will help you to take the necessary steps to stay in Germany for up to 12 months and find qualified employment.
To this end, we will work with you to apply for a residence permit to look for a job (Section 20 (3) No. 4 AufenthG).

2

Partial recognition:

If your qualifications are only partially recognized, we will support you in extending your residence permit by up to two years so that you can take part in the necessary training measures.
We will work with your employer to help you make up for any deficits identified, for example through language courses or internships.
